Sonsray has an exciting opportunity for a Handyman/Building Maintenance Technician based out of our corporate office in Torrance, CA.  The Building Maintenance Technician will report directly to President and work with the Operations Management team to improve the appearance and safety of our local locations through regular repairs, preventative maintenance, cleaning and assisting and managing branch renovations as needed. This position may require work in grounds-keeping, painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and other maintenance tasks as assigned.



Responsibilities:

The Building Maintenance Technician will be responsible for a wide variety of general building maintenance repairs and services including but not limited to

  • Electrical: Ballasts, bulbs, outlet installation, dedicated circuits, etc.
  • Plumbing: General plumbing including repairing leaking faucets, replacing washers faucets and seals on malfunctioning plumbing equipment; cleaning clogged drains, basin cleaning in garages, pit/drain cleaning and snaking in garages
  • Painting: Latex/oil based paints, brush and roller applications, plaster, drywall and wallpaper repair. Interior and exterior jobs.
  • Doors: Metal/wood, closers, hinges, sweeps, etc.
  • Furniture: Repair, drawers, adjustments, assembly
  • General Office: Ceiling tile replacement, changing filters, alarm updates, hanging artwork and bulletin boards.
  • Landscaping/Pool Service: Able to handle the landscaping, pool service and exterior building cleaning.


Additional duties include:

 

  • Moving items as needed (i.e. furniture, file cabinets, boxes, etc.)
  • Delivery of office and building supplies to the correct departments and locations
  • Scheduling, monitoring and performing general and preventative maintenance at the branches.
  • Assist on branch relocations and other special projects as needed and directed by the management operations team.
  • Responsible for the timely completion of all assigned facility work requested.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous manner at all times with all company employees, vendors and contractors.
  • Exhibit a professional appearance and comply with all uniform requirements
  • Maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance and punctuality
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by management.

 

Requirements Desired:

  • Tools and machinery are provided by the company
  • Have excellent customer service skills and able to work well with different types of personality
  • Able to take the initiative and work well without guidance
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus
  • Good driving record is required
  • Valid CA Driver’s License, reliable car, and proof of insurance
