Product Support Manager – San Leandro, CA

Sonsray Machinery LLC. operates 13  CASE construction equipment dealerships located in California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington.  Sonsray Machinery LLC.  provides comprehensive sales, as well as parts and service support, including rental and leasing programs for Case customers.  Sonsray Machinery LLC. is a growing dynamic company offering a unique environment that fosters individual growth and rewards performance.

The Product Support Manager will be responsible for managing the day to day service and parts operations for the San Leandro, CA dealership to maximize return on investment through; optimizing service and parts department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction, growing profitable parts & labor sales, exercising disciplined expense control, attracting and retaining outstanding talent, and effectively engaging department personnel.

Essential Duties:

  • Develops and follows an annual parts & service budget to provide realistic, attainable and measurable profit goals compatible with overall dealership financial and operational goals.
  • Coordinates recruiting of new talent utilizing local technical schools programs, corporate recruiter, and other resources to hire top talent.
  • Develops and retains key talent through individual development plans.
  • Maintains all management reports necessary to audit the performance of department and individual employees.
  • Develops, maintains, and adheres to a priority system for scheduling all service work for customer and internal.
  • Ensures that all manufacturer warranty and Product Improvement Program (PIP) claims are completed and filed within the required time frame according to manufacturer’s requirements to receive maximum credit.
  • Monitors warranty expense and recovery rates to meet company objectives.
  • Responsible for facility inspections, safety meetings, and coordinating the annual safety inspections.
  • Schedule and assign jobs and work areas to employees according to their skills and knowledge.
  • Ensures that parts & service department is equipped with the necessary tools and all equipment is available and maintained in good working order.
  • Work with Store Manager on maintaining building and yard facility.
  • Coordinates dealership training program and service-related customer clinics.
  • Executes day to day objectives to meet or exceed annual parts & service department goals and budget, in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives
  • Insures proper parts stocking levels to maximize customer satisfaction and maximize utilization of company resources. Works with other stores to maximize company resources when ordering parts.
  • Develops and executes Parts Department marketing plan and monitors monthly to ensure achievement of departmental goals.
  • Ensure internal and external customer satisfaction. Develops and maintains effective Parts Department processes including accuracy of parts counter tickets and tracking of lost sales.
  • Conducts a perpetual/annual physical inventory of all parts and related inventories
  • Review customer receivables and ensure service & parts department employees adhere to company accounts receivable and collections policies.
  • Conducts self in a professional manner at all times, inside and outside the dealership.
  • Monitors metrics on a monthly basis to assure achievement of departmental goals.
  • Introducing our line of service and product to prospective customers by making cold calls and visits.
  • Maintain and develop current customer relationships.
  • Ensures leadership of employees thru integrity, teamwork, customer responsiveness, and profitable decision making.
  • Perform other miscellaneous functions or duties as directed by management in line with the objectives of the dealership.

 

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Service Department operations.
  • 2+ years' experience in Heavy Construction Equipment industry with strong service/mechanical experience is highly preferred or must have some type of hydraulic heavy equipment experience to be considered.
  • Prior experience within a dealership organization is highly desired.
  • Parts operations experience is ideal but willing to train.
  • Must be a leader and motivator.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Good understanding of financial principles relative to service and parts department operations.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports.
  • Four year college degree in Business/Management is preferred but not required.
